   Welcome to Westminster Church!

Our Commitment
As a part of the body of the one living Lord, Westminster is committed to sharing the good news of God's love for all in Jesus Christ.  We are committed, with God's help, to welcoming and nurturing all those who come through our doors and to living out our mission statement:
Living and Growing in Gratitude for God's Love, Grace and Mercy.
Sundays
Worship - 11 am:  We are a small but mighty worshipping community with 60 or so attending on a regular basis and a choir of about 20 members.  Westminster periodically welcomes its youth and children into the leadership of worship as liturgists and with dramatic "sermons."  After our children's message, we dismiss the grade-school children for a time of Christian Educaiton but always bring them back into worship when there is baptism or communion.
Church School - 10 am:  Adults-2 Bible classes, 1 current topics class; Young Adults-relevant topics for younger parents; Youth; Children.

Ministries
Worship at Westminster extends beyond Sunday mornings with a regular Thursday Evening Prayer service and yearly Holy Week services featuring a guest preacher.  Christian Education at Westminster also extends beyond Sunday to include the monthly Presbyterian Women's Bible study, a Wednesday family based ministry using the national LOGOS model involving fellowship, Bible study and worship skills.   Mission includes service and funding in partnership with local, national and international organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Food Bank, Food for Fitness, Christmas in Action, House of Refuge, just to name a few.  And, there is never a lack of opportunities for Fellowship with Sunday lunches, a fall festival, a Christmas dinner, XYZ ("Extra Years of Zest"), etc.

Location
Westminster is located just 60 miles south of Dallas, TX off Interstate 45 in the heart of the wonderful little community of Corsicana.  We are at the corner of 13th Street and 3rd Avenue across from the Courthouse.  We like to consider ourselves a friendly, small town church even though Corsicana's population is reaching 30,000.  Our beautiful church building was built in 1954 (though our Presbyterian roots go all the way back to the beginning of our fair city).

We celebrate our heritage, are grateful for today and trust God with tomorrow.  Come join us as we grow into the future God intends for us.  Together let us be blessed so that we may be a blessing to others.

The peace and grace of our Lord be with you.

                                                   Pastor John
